My current printmaking efforts have been in the area of relief printing, with a particular focus on linoleum cuts. These works were inspired by my painting efforts about 10-12 years ago, in which I was cobbling together separate, painted images with the aim of modifying any innate symbolism an object might have by changing its surroundings. I quickly found that painting a stock image numerous times was a tedious endeavor and felt that printmaking might be a better way to accomplish this aim. I developed a series of repertory imagery that shared a common, modular format. I was able combine the images in different sequences, creating numerous and varied narratives.
